Job summary

Stantec in Washington, DC is seeking an Electrical Intern to work with our Buildings team on a range of public and private sector projects. You will gain hands-on experience, learn from licensed engineers, and contribute to plans and designs under supervision.

You will develop knowledge of electrical systems, including lighting, power, energy efficiency, and fire alarm design, using Revit, AutoCAD, and Excel, while supporting project deliverables and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Office and PDF editing tools.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare contract drawings, calculations, specifications, schedules, and details using Revit, AutoCAD, and Excel
• Participate in Summer Intern Design Project with interns from other building design disciplines
• Facilitate and ensure the quality of the project deliverables
• Follow production guidelines and project standards of the department
• Learn to apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems
• Support team operations and promote a culture of safety
• Coordinate with cross discipline professionals on assigned projects
