Job summary
Carbon Direct is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Power, Data, and Innovation team. This role focuses on modeling at the intersection of power systems engineering, market economics, and applied predictive analytics to support decarbonized power advisory engagements.

Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with client leadership experience.
- Proficiency in transmission models (N-1, SCUC, SCED) and power flow tools (PSS/E/PowerWorld/PSCAD).
- Familiarity with production-cost models (PyPSA/PROMOD/Plexos/AURORA).
- Experience with North America and EU energy markets (ISOs/RTOs) and market rules.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze electrical systems for decarbonization pathways.
- Develop transmission planning and renewable integration studies.
- Conduct due diligence on projects involving electrical infrastructure or energy storage.
- Present analyses and recommendations to clients and leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support deliverables.
- Contribute to publications and external communications on electrification and grid decarbonization.
- Maintain models and integration with other teams.
