Job summary

Carbon Direct LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Power, Data and Innovation team. You will model power systems, support decarbonization analyses, and interact with clients, economists, and researchers to deliver data-driven advisories.

Lead transmission and market modeling efforts, translate complex results for non-technical stakeholders, and help expand our end-to-end power advisory offerings. Hybrid, US-based roles with remote-friendly options.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with leadership of client engagements in power markets.
• Experience with transmission modeling and AC/DC power flow for market operations.
• Familiarity with production-cost models and energy market rules.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze electrical systems for corporate decarbonization paths.
• Develop transmission planning and reliability studies and ISPs/IRPs.
• Conduct due diligence on projects involving energy storage or electrification.
• Present complex analyses to clients and leadership with clear recommendations.
• Collaborate with scientists, policy experts, and business teams on deliverables.
• Contribute to technical reports and external communications on grid decarbonization.
• Maintain models and support cross-team integration for climate tech initiatives.
