Job summary
Carbon Direct is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Power, Data and Innovation team. This role focuses on modeling at the intersection of power systems engineering, market economics, and predictive analytics to support our decarbonization advisory mission.
You will work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, economists, and energy modelers to deliver client engagements and enhance our power systems offerings, translating complex analyses for external clients and internal
Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with experience leading clients in electric power.
- Strong modeling experience across transmission and market operations.
- Experience with wholesale electricity markets and ISO/RTO structures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, evaluate, and analyze electrical systems for decarbonization pathways.
- Maintain transmission planning and ISP/IRP studies for clients.
- Conduct due diligence on projects involving electrical infrastructure and storage.
- Translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations for clients and leadership.
- Collaborate with scientists, policy experts, and business teams on deliverables.
- Contribute to publications and external communications on grid decarbonization.
