Job summary
Carbon Direct is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Power, Data and Innovation team. You will model transmission systems, analyze market operations, and support decarbonization projects while translating complex analytics into clear client recommendations.
The role requires leadership in client engagements, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and strong communication to internal leadership.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with client-facing experience.
- Experience with transmission planning and reliability studies and market operations.
- Strong ability to present technical analyses to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with energy market rules, ISOs/RTOs, and cross-border markets.
- Experience with modeling and data analysis in Python, MATLAB, or R (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Design, evaluate, and analyze electrical systems for corporate decarbonization pathways.
- Develop transmission planning, reliability, and ISP/IRP studies customized for clients.
- Conduct due diligence on projects involving electrical infrastructure and energy storage.
- Present analyses and recommendations to clients and Carbon Direct leadership.
- Collaborate with scientists, policy experts, and business teams to support deliverables.
- Contribute to publications and external communications on grid decarbonization.
- Cross-collaborate with power and non-power teams and integrate models across groups.
