Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and deliver MV/LV electrical systems for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities. You will work with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams on load flow, protection, and drawings, gaining hands-on experience with complex electrical systems in a first-of-a-kind facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 1+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial, process, power, or related complex facilities.
  • Experience with MV/LV electrical distribution systems and fundamental EE principles.
  • Experience with power system analysis software such as SKM Power Tools, ETAP, EasyPower or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with electrical design deliverables including single line diagrams, load lists, equipment specifications, cable schedules, and electrical layouts.
  • Working knowledge of NEC/IEEE/ANSI/NEMA/CSA/IEC codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain MV/LV electrical distribution designs.
  • Prepare and review load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting, and harmonic analyses.
  • Assist with transformer, cable, switchgear, MCC, and battery sizing.
  • Create single line diagrams and equipment layouts for distribution systems.
  • Support electrical area classification and hazardous environment compliance.
  • Coordinate with I&C, civil, and structural engineers on interface drawings.
