Job summary

S&B is seeking a Process Engineering Intern in Baton Rouge, LA to assist with routine, clearly defined tasks under close supervision. You will gain exposure to established design techniques and participate in field data gathering and plant startup activities.

You will work with a multi-disciplinary team on projects across Oil & Gas, Chemicals, and Energy sectors, developing hands-on engineering skills while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Internship classification normally requires completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Previous internship experience is preferred, but not required.
• Must possess the eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conducts field trips to existing plants to gather operating data and equipment information.
• Gathers data to help prepare equipment specifications, inquiry and purchase requisitions for approval.
• Evaluates vendors' bids and drawings to assure compliance with specifications for simple equipment and specialty items.
• Participates in the preparation of equipment lists, piping line lists and specialty item lists.
• Participates in preparation of design guides, guide specifications and contract proposals.
• Participates in plant Start-ups.
