Sargent & Lundy in Chattanooga, TN, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to apply and expand your academic background in electrical power concepts within a professional setting. You will team with other engineers and designers on nuclear plant electrical systems, performing power systems analysis, load flow studies, and the preparation of design inputs, calculations, and equipment specifications.

This role is hybrid, requiring in-office work three days per week, with opportunities for mentorship

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background in electrical power concepts/power systems analysis
• An understanding of the practical application of electrical engineering and technology including applying systems, principles, techniques, and procedures to a project design
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Electrical systems design for nuclear plant projects
• Preparation of complex calculations including load flow and short circuit analyses
• Assist in power flow, system impact, and cable ampacity studies
• Prepare design inputs, equipment and material specifications, and design reports
• Collaborate with engineers and designers; travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field verification
