Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and maintain computer hardware components for avionics systems. This onsite role requires hands-on hardware design, analysis of analog and digital circuits, and supervision of PCB layout within a collaborative team.

You will work with test equipment, perform validation, and contribute to engineering estimates on moderate-scale electrical design problems while ensuring compliance with aerospace standards

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
• Must be U.S. Person - Job requires access to ITAR or 600/500-series EAR information or hardware.

Responsibilities

• Review and maintain awareness of obsolete parts on assigned products.
• Design and analyze digital and analog circuits using schematic capture tools and performance simulation tools.
• Characterize digital and analog signals using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and related test equipment.
• Design and analyze digital circuits including computer hardware components, and their performance characteristics.
• Provide supervision and technical guidance for PCB layout.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment.
• Perform validation and verification activities to ensure products meet design specifications.
• Contribute to engineering estimates for limited to moderate scope of electrical design problems.
