Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and analyze power plant and industrial electrical systems. You will work on retrofit and new installations, supporting project teams with diagrams, calculations, and specifications.

The role offers a hybrid schedule (in-office 3 days/week) and opportunities to collaborate across disciplines, with some travel to client and vendor sites as needed.

Qualifications

• A BS in Electrical Engineering is required with emphasis in power systems preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems and equipment selection.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans, drawings, and models.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• This position may require occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and expand Electrical Engineering background on power plant retrofit and new generation projects.
• Work in a project team environment on electrical system design, modification, and analysis.
• Conduct investigations, troubleshooting, and solving electrical issues.
• Prepare design drawings, single line diagrams, relay/metering diagrams, and 3-D modeling inputs.
• Perform calculations including voltage drop, arc flash, and protective relay settings.
• Interface with vendors to prepare BOMs and equipment specifications.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field verification.
