Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an electrical engineer to join a project team designing, modifying, and analyzing electrical systems for power, industrial, and solar PV projects. You will produce drawings, calculations, and specifications, while coordinating with vendors and clients to ensure compliance and efficiency.

You will support project leads, travel to sites, and contribute to design reviews, with emphasis on power distribution, protective relays, and system modeling using ETAP/SKM tools.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Electrical Engineering required, power systems emphasis preferred.
• 3+ years in power plant or industrial plant design for new or modified facilities.
• Experience selecting equipment, control philosophy, and compiling specs/calculations.
• Experience with medium/low voltage distribution and protective relay settings.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution and prepare equipment procurement specifications.
• Assist project lead to keep projects on time and within budget.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specs, codes, and client needs.
• Create functional drawings: single line, relay, metering, cable blocks, schematics.
• Prepare detailed calculations: load studies, voltage drop, arc-flash, relay settings.
• Interface with vendors for BOMs and equipment specs, advise client.
• Prepare reports and studies; contribute to design documentation and reviews.
• Travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for reviews and verification.
• Participate in S&L Communities of Practice to grow professionally.
