Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Wilmington, Delaware, seeks an experienced electrical engineer to design, analyze, and review power plant electrical systems as part of a project team.

Responsibilities include calculations (short circuit, voltage drop, protective relay settings), engineering reports, and collaboration with lead engineers to deliver on time and within budget. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• BSEE degree from ABET-accredited program is required.
• 3+ years of experience designing electrical engineering systems in a project team environment.
• Experience with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution, transformers, generators, motors.
• Experience serving as firm/client liaison in a lead or support engineering role.
• Experience reviewing design drawings and calculations.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in teams and individually.
• Detail oriented approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Work under electrical engineering lead or project manager in a team designing, modifying, and analyzing power plant electrical systems.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve electrical engineering issues.
• Assist in ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Prepare and review calculations (three phase AC/DC power studies, short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting, protective relay settings).
• Prepare engineering input for drawings and reports meeting client requirements and S&L formats.
• Review work of others and develop project work plans.
