Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineer I for the Nuclear Power Group. The role focuses on designing and modernizing critical electrical systems for nuclear plants, SMRs, and life-extension projects.

You will work under supervision with engineers and SMEs, gaining hands-on experience across discipline interfaces and client interactions. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days, plus potential relocation support depending on

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a strong background in electrical power concepts/power systems analysis.
Understanding of applying electrical engineering principles to project design and practical solutions.
Familiarity with design techniques, drawings, and modeling for technical plans.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

Assist in engineering calculations and design tasks for large nuclear plants, including protection and coordination studies.
Use ETAP to perform power systems analysis and modeling for complex networks.
Assist with selecting and integrating major electrical power equipment (switchgear, MCCs, transformers, breakers, relays).
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with client stakeholders during project execution.
