Job summary

ENFRA in Charlotte, NC seeks an Electrical Professional Engineer I to design, analyze, and support electrical systems across hospital and college campuses, focusing on power distribution, renewables, storage, and controls integration.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, prepare calculations and drawings, support permitting, and ensure designs are constructible and compliant with codes, contributing to ENFRA’s design‑build delivery and lifecycle performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
5+ years of design experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Working knowledge of electrical system design and analysis.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
Proficiency with electrical design and modeling software.
Effective communication and documentation skills.
Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

Signing and sealing engineering documents, as applicable.
Designs solar energy, battery energy storage, fuel cell, and CHP plants with guidance from senior engineers.
Performs analysis and design of electrical systems (power distribution, low/medium voltage systems, lighting, controls, etc.).
Prepares calculations, drawings, and specifications under established standards.
Conducts site visits, field assessments, and data collection; may coordinate 3D laser scanning efforts.
Assists in project coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Applies engineering techniques within defined assignments.
Performs work under general supervision.
Handles moderately complex issues; escalates complex challenges to senior staff.
