Job summary

Axon is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer in Sterling, VA. You will build and test PCBs, cables, and harnesses, grow into schematic capture, and own parts of our lab. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to support R&D and production, writing test plans and documenting results.

The role emphasizes hands-on bench work and rigorous engineering analysis. Ideal candidates have a degree in electrical engineering or related hands-on program, 0–3 years of experience, and strong soldering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Associate degree or technical certificate in Electronics Engineering Technology with hands-on experience.
• 0–3 years of professional experience.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply, including internships, co-ops or capstone projects.
• Hands-on proficiency with soldering, rework, and cable/harness assembly.
• Strong documentation habits and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and rework prototype and pilot-run electronic assemblies, including PCBs, cable/wire harnesses, and mechanical/electrical integration.
• Lay out printed circuit boards from schematics and generate complete fabrication and assembly packages.
• Perform hardware bring-up, functional test, and debug using lab equipment.
• Diagnose electrical faults and root-cause issues with engineers.
• Support power system testing and RF/sensor checkout across varying conditions.
• Own lab equipment inventory, calibration tracking, and documentation.
