Job summary

Axon in Sterling, VA is seeking an entry‑level Electrical Engineer to design, assemble, and test cUAS hardware. You’ll build boards, cables, and harnesses, lay out PCBs, and run verification tests while growing into broader design ownership.

You’ll work closely with electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers, supporting lab operations and documentation. This role offers a hybrid schedule with hands‑on bench work and growth toward Electrical Engineer II.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field; hands‑on experience also accepted with certs.
• 0–3 years of professional experience; internships and capstone projects count.
• Experience walking through electronics design decisions and tradeoffs.
• Hands‑on proficiency with soldering and cable/harness assembly; IPC‑A‑610/J‑STD‑001 training a plus.
• Familiarity reading schematics and using lab test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, and debug prototype electronics and PCBs.
• Design cable assemblies and wire harnesses with proper derating and shielding.
• Lay out PCBs from schematics and prepare fabrication packages; grow into schematic capture.
• Perform hardware bring‑up and functional tests using lab equipment.
• Document results, issues, and test plans; collaborate with engineering teams.
