Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory in Idaho Falls seeks an Electrical Engineer to solve complex problems, contribute to design, analysis, and testing in electrical engineering including power electronics, data acquisition, controls, electric machines and power systems.

You will troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment with PLCs, collaborate with fellow engineers, write design documents and test reports, and prepare project plans to accomplish assigned work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and ≥2 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree in related field with ≥1 year of experience.
  • Currently an Intermediate Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field Engineer at the Company.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and test in electrical engineering including power electronics, data acquisition, controls, electric machines, and power systems.
  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment involving PLCs.
  • Team with other engineers to ensure integration of activities and plans.
  • Interface with internal and external organizations.
  • Write design documents, test procedures, and generate test reports.
  • Prepare project plans to accomplish assigned work.
