Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) seeks an Electrical Engineer for the Power Technology unit to design, analyze, and test electrical systems for shipboard instrumentation and control across naval platforms. You will work on power electronics, data acquisition, controls, and electric machines, with opportunities to prototype and qualify hardware and software.

The role emphasizes collaboration with internal and external teams, documentation, and project planning, supporting safe and reliable naval

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical, engineering or science field; or Master's degree in a related technical, engineering or science field.
  • Experience or coursework in power electronics, controls, power systems, and/or electric machines.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher (preferred).
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem solving and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design, analysis, and testing of electrical engineering systems (power electronics, data acquisition, controls, electric machines).
  • Design circuits and systems by prototyping and integrating hardware and software; perform qualification testing.
  • Procure equipment to support verification and validation; collaborate with other engineers.
  • Write design documents, test procedures, and generate test reports; prepare project plans.
