Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory in Idaho Falls is seeking an Equipment Installation Engineer to oversee the installation of systems for processing and storing nuclear fuel, becoming an expert on system requirements and coordinating with installation technicians.

You will write installation tasks, help train personnel, troubleshoot issues, and act as a primary liaison among Operations, Facilities Engineering, construction, and installation contractors, with opportunities to plan, design, model, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related technical, engineering or science field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or a Master’s with 2+ years; or a Doctorate in related field.
  • Current Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company is eligible.
  • Preferred candidates have experience with NRF processing equipment and nuclear safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Install systems involved in processing and storage of nuclear fuel; write installation tasks and specifications.
  • Collaborate with installation technicians, train personnel, troubleshoot issues, and assist operators.
  • Serve as liaison between Operations, Facilities Engineering, construction and installation contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Opportunities include planning, designing, modeling, analyzing, documenting, and overseeing installation of nuclear equipment.
