Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the Electrical Controls and Structural Engineering team at the Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC). You will apply engineering principles to power transmission, storage, and distribution, and collaborate to deliver safe, resilient electrical systems for research needs.

The role emphasizes detailed analyses, design reviews, and coordination with customers and other engineers.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience (Level 3).
• Level 4 requires 9+ years with a Bachelor's; Master’s +2 years; PhD +2 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed analyses on current power transmission and distribution systems.
• Apply electrical engineering theories to design and execute power-related experiments.
• Collaborate with customers to develop system alternatives and evaluate risks and costs.
• Provide design reviews and ensure modifications meet baseline requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers and stakeholders to execute testing activities and report status.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians in test procedures and lab activities.
