Job summary

LaBella Associates seeks an Electrical Engineer focused on Building Projects to join our Albany or Poughkeepsie, NY offices. You will collaborate with a project team to develop concepts, designs, and reports for buildings from conception through construction.

You will perform lighting calculations, power distribution design, and layouts using Revit and AutoCAD, with opportunities across K-12, higher education, municipal and large commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in electrical engineering or related field is required.
• 3 - 7 years of experience.
• EIT certification is a plus.
• Background in AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
• Experience in the A/E consulting business is a plus.
• Strong writing, organizational and communications skills.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Work with other engineers as part of a Project Team to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Prepare electrical design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform lighting calculations and arc flash studies.
• Perform field investigations to document existing conditions.
• Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with co-workers, staff, project managers, other disciplines, and all other employees.
• Expected to improve current knowledge of technologies and trends, as they apply to the applicable project and market types, and continually strengthens skills.
