Job summary

LaBella Associates in Albany or Poughkeepsie, NY, seeks an entry level Electrical Engineer for Building Projects. Join a project team to develop concepts, designs, drawings, specifications and reports from conception to construction, collaborating with architects and engineers.

The Junior Electrical Engineer will perform lighting calculations, power distribution design, and field investigations, with opportunities to grow in a diverse project portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in electrical engineering or related field is required.
• EIT certification is a plus.
• Background in AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
• Experience in the A/E consulting business is a plus.
• Strong writing, organizational and communications skills.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Work with other engineers as part of a Project Team to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Prepare electrical design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform lighting calculations and arc flash studies.
• Perform field investigations to document existing conditions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor in communications with coworkers, project managers and other disciplines.
• Continually strengthen skills by staying updated on technologies and trends.
