Job summary

NAVFAC Pacific seeks experienced Electrical Engineers to deliver design, construction, and maintenance of Navy facilities. You will lead electrical system design, prepare drawings and cost estimates, and provide SME oversight on contracts for MILCON and related projects.

Responsibilities include drafting scopes of work, evaluating bids, and performing on-site inspections while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure code-compliant, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
  • Must be able to obtain SECRET clearance.
  • US citizen 18+; males registered or exempt from Selective Service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the comprehensive design of electrical systems for a wide range of military facilities, producing drawings, specs, load calculations and cost estimates.
  • Draft technical Scopes of Work (SOW); assist in evaluating contractor bids; SME for design and construction contracts oversight.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of design packages and cost estimates for compliance with codes and standards.
  • Review submittals, resolve RFIs, and conduct on-site inspections to troubleshoot field issues.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams through planning, construction, and facilities management lifecycle.

We are currently looking for experienced, journey-level Electrical Engineers to join our dynamic team and make a lasting impact.

Our Electrical Engineers are responsible for providing independent, timely, and professional electrical engineering products and services, consultation, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other supported Commands. You will be working on a variety of special projects and critical military construction (MILCON), and be involved in the demolition, maintenance, space utilization, and development of facilities.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the comprehensive design of electrical systems for a wide range of military facilities; developing comprehensive drawings, specifications, load calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Draft technical Scopes of Work (SOW), assist in evaluating contractor bids during procurement, and serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the administration and oversight of design and construction contracts.
  • Perform rigorous QA/QC reviews on design packages, engineering drawings, and cost estimates produced by external consultants to ensure strict alignment with industry codes and project standards.
  • Provide essential engineering support by reviewing submittals, resolving RFIs, and conducting on-site inspections to troubleshoot and resolve field issues quickly.
  • Provide expert electrical engineering consultation and collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary project teams (mechanical, structural, architectural) throughout the planning, construction, and facilities management lifecycle.

Highly Desirable Experience: Registered Professional Engineer and 4-10 years Electrical Engineering Design experience

Key Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance
  • A US Citizen aged 18 or older at time of hire
  • Males registered or exempt from Selective Service www.sss.gov
  • Determined suitable for federal employment (process includes a background check and fingerprinting)
