Job summary

Transmission & Distribution World seeks an Electrical Engineer to support Department of the Navy design projects. The role involves leading facilities electrical design packages, coordinating DBB/DB projects, and ensuring DoD functional requirements are met on installation shore facilities.

Summary

Duties

You will execute in-house electrical engineering design work products and services within specified milestones and quality standards.


You will perform all aspects of electrical engineering design for a wide variety of installation shore facility types.


You will lead multi-disciplinary in-house (IH) design teams, executing IH projects as well as overseeing design efforts accomplished via Architectural/Engineering (A/E) firms.


You will coordinate the electrical engineering design with the engineering disciplines for Design-Bid-Build (DBB) and Design-Build (DB) projects to ensure overall compatibility and efficiency of the site and building design.


You will conduct site investigation field trips to project sites, as required, to collect all pertinent data and refine or develop project scope by inspection of existing conditions and through meetings with the sponsoring and using activities.


You will perform technical management and oversight on execution of multi-disciplinary design projects whether accomplished by IH or A/E forces.


You will provide technical guidance to A/E firms regarding criteria application and unique Department of Defense (DoD) functional requirements.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience as a professional ELECTRICAL ENGINEER at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:



  • Leading production of facilities electrical engineering design packages, including design drawings, plans, specifications and design-build requests for proposal;

  • Reviewing facilities electrical engineering design submittals to provide subject matter expert acceptance recommendations to officials

  • Providing facilities electrical engineering design consultation services to officials during construction.
