Job summary

NAVFAC Pacific is actively seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team and deliver cutting‑edge infrastructure projects for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other supported Commands. You will work on MILCON projects, demolition, maintenance, space utilization, and facility development.

As a Civil Engineer, you will independently design, cost, and specify facilities, manage multi‑discipline projects, and ensure timely completion. A SECRET clearance and US citizenship are required for eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Independently create and evaluate engineering designs for site developments, access roads, utility grids, and waterfront structures. Prepare blueprints, precise cost estimations, and construction specifications.
  • Provide technical administration and management for multi‑discipline design projects, leading design charrettes, identifying risks, and ensuring projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
  • Perform rigorous quality reviews on designs submitted by private architectural‑engineering (A/E) contracting firms. Draft statements of work to secure external engineering services.
  • Provide expert post‑award support, including resolving complex RFIs, reviewing contractor submittals, and conducting critical site visits to solve real‑time construction challenges.
  • Act as the organizational expert in civil engineering, resolving complex design issues and mentoring the next generation of junior engineers.

CIVIL ENGINEER

Our Civil Engineers are responsible for providing independent, timely, and professional structural engineering products, services and consultation, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other supported Commands. You will be working on a variety of special projects and critical military construction (MILCON), and be involved in the demolition, maintenance, space utilization, and development of facilities.

As a Civil Engineer, you will:

Highly Desirable Experience:

Registered Professional Engineer and 4‑10 years Civil Engineering Design experience

Key Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance
  • A US Citizen aged 18 or older at time of hire
  • Males registered or exempt from Selective Service www.sss.gov
  • Determined suitable for federal employment (process includes a background check and fingerprinting)
Salary Range: $104,233 – $134,747
