Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced electrical engineering leader to own the electrical scope for Aurora-INL, from design through turnover. The role coordinates EPC partners, vendors, and project teams to ensure safety, quality, and rigorous electrical performance.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license and have 8+ years in power-generation and nuclear/DOE-regulated environments, with experience in design-build delivery and field construction. Travel to project offices and sites is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
Eight or more years of progressively responsible electrical engineering experience, including significant experience with power-generation electrical systems.
Experience with facility power distribution, emergency power, grounding, electrical equipment, and electrical studies.
Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and vendor submittals.
Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, including IEEE standards and relevant building and fire codes.
Experience with nuclear or DOE-regulated facilities.

Responsibilities

Provide owner-side technical leadership for Aurora-INL electrical systems.
Own electrical scope from design development through procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and turnover.
Coordinate electrical work performed by EPC partners and equipment vendors.
Establish, review, and maintain electrical design criteria, requirements, calculations, specifications, drawings, and equipment data.
Review load-flow, short-circuit, protective-device coordination, arc-flash, grounding, and other electrical studies.
Verify electrical requirements and design inputs across drawings, specifications, studies, vendor packages, and construction documents.
Lead resolution of technical questions, RFIs, design changes, nonconformances, and field issues.
Support equipment procurement through technical requirements, vendor proposal and submittal reviews, and vendor-interface resolution.
Coordinate with project management and scheduling teams on priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery decisions.
Work in a progressive design-build environment with overlapping engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
Support constructability reviews, installation planning, inspections, testing, commissioning, and operations.
Promote practical collaboration while maintaining safety, quality, and technical rigor.

Requirements

Ability to travel to project offices, vendor facilities, and the Aurora-INL construction site
Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain one
Experience with nuclear or DOE-regulated facilities
Experience supporting EPC, progressive design-build execution, and field construction
Experience using ETAP, CDEGS, and Bluebeam
Experience with switchyard design and high-voltage utility coordination
Experience with commissioning, startup, or turnover of industrial electrical systems
Ability to communicate technical content and results verbally
Must meet applicable U.S. person requirements if accessing information subject to U.S. export control laws
May be subject to successful drug screening and drug testing under company policy and applicable laws
