Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Distribution Systems Engineer for an on-site role in Upington, Northern Cape. You will contribute to design, operation, and maintenance of the regional distribution network, ensuring reliable power delivery to customers and industries.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems and 4+ years' experience, with CYME/PSS/SINCAL/PowerFactory proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems focus.
• 4+ years of experience in design/operation of electrical distribution systems.
• Experience with distribution system analysis tools (CYME, PSS/SINCAL, PowerFactory).
• Strong knowledge of distribution principles, protection schemes and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and develop electrical distribution networks including substations and lines.
• Perform load analysis, system modeling and forecasting for distribution networks.
• Specify distribution equipment such as transformers and switchgear.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards and safety regulations.
• Oversee installation, commissioning and testing of new distribution infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot issues and develop maintenance strategies for reliability.
• Analyze system performance and recommend upgrades.
• Coordinate with regulators and customers on distribution matters.
