Job summary

NEI Electric Power Engineering in Lakewood, CO is seeking an Electrical Designer in the BESS group. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams on utility-scale solar BESS engineering design, delivering quality work on time and within budget.

The position can be performed remotely or from our Lakewood office. The role requires 3+ years of engineering design or related experience, with a degree in electrical engineering technology or related field preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering technology or related experience preferred.
• 3+ years of engineering design or other relevant experience.
• Physical design experience required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Able to read technical literature and engineering plans.
• Must demonstrate two-way communication with internal staff and external clients.
• English fluency and strong writing skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to perform electrical engineering design for utility-scale BESS projects.
• Perform detailed design and prepare drawings per project and client requirements.
• Specify and review equipment and components for BESS electrical systems.
• Support procurement, construction and commissioning phases of BESS projects.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, codes and best practices.
• Conduct technical reviews to ensure quality deliverables.
