Job summary

NEI Electric Power Engineering is seeking an Electrical Designer in the BESS group to perform utility-scale solar BESS engineering design. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver quality, on-time outputs within budget, focusing on electrical design and documentation.

The role emphasizes collaboration, adherence to industry standards, and support across procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering technology or related experience preferred.
• 3+ years of engineering design or other relevant experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to perform electrical engineering design for utility-scale BESS projects.
• Perform detailed design and prepare drawings per project & client requirements.
• Specify and/or review equipment and components required for BESS electrical systems.
• Provide support during procurement, construction and commissioning phases of BESS projects.
• Ensure that all projects adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, codes and best-practices.
• Conduct technical reviews of BESS projects to ensure quality deliverables are produced.
• Support BESS team by producing department standards and best-practices.
• Participate in project meetings and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
