Job summary

NEI Electric Power Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer in the Solar Engineering group for Lakewood, CO. The role supports in-office and remote candidates, focusing on PV electrical power system design and analysis, with opportunities to work on utility-scale projects and field coordination.

You will perform system studies, review equipment, and prepare budgets and reports, while maintaining safety and code compliance. A PE is a plus; licensure support offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with electric power option preferred.
• 3–6+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• FE/PE is a plus but not required; licensure is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze PV electrical power systems (string sizing, layouts, wiring, grounding).
• Perform power system studies (short circuit, load flow, arc flash, harmonic analysis).
• Review equipment data sheets and testing reports for design approvals.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and studies; generate technical reports.
• Provide field assistance and observe site conditions; ensure code compliance.
• Coordinate with design team and maintain client relationships.
