Job summary

NEI Electric Power Engineering, Inc. seeks an experienced Electrical Designer to join the Solar Engineering group. The role supports utility-scale solar projects, delivering detailed electrical designs and drawings from bid to construction.

The ideal candidate will have 2–5+ years of design experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and proficiency in MS Office. Remote work is available, with Lakewood, CO as a potential site, and minimal travel required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or related field.
• 2-5+ years of engineering design or related experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Able to read technical literature and engineering plans.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed design and prepare drawings for PV electrical power systems (one-line/three-line diagrams, conduit/cable sizing, grounding, equipment layouts).
• Provides conceptual/high-level designs during bidding with limited information.
• Prepares civil/structural drawings for PV design as needed.
• Produces documents like basis of designs, BOMs, and studies.
• Checks work of designers and drafters for quality and accuracy.
• Contributes to CAD standards and improves efficiency.
• Supports QA/QC processes and client relationships.
• Attend safety trainings and follow guidelines.
