Job summary

Glumac in Sacramento, CA is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support our electrical discipline and contribute to diverse, innovative projects. This hybrid role requires two in-office days per week and offers opportunities to solve complex challenges using BIM and industry-leading tools.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years as an MEP Designer, a BS in Engineering, and proficiency in REVIT. Eligibility to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as an MEP Designer in the building construction industry.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• Proficiency in REVIT, showcasing your mastery of industry-leading design tools.
• Must be located within a commutable distance of the Sacramento, CA office.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan electrical power systems for all types of projects, including but not limited to: commercial, advanced technology, mission critical, education, government, healthcare, science & technology.
• Design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, performing calculations of lighting systems and associated controls.
• Work with external team members, including architects, outside consultants, code officials, and contractors.
• Work with internal team members of other disciplines to provide a coordinated and thought-out design.
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and equipment selection.
• Assist with electrical code research for project-specific issues.
• Support construction administration tasks, including responses to RFIs and equipment submittals.
• Interface with code officials and contractors as needed.
• Work closely with project teams to support assigned efforts from concept through construction.
