Job summary

LVI Associates, a respected consulting engineering firm, is seeking a mid-level Electrical Designer to join its growing MEP team in the United States. You will design electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, education, municipal, and hospitality projects, using Revit and AutoCAD, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams from concept through construction.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of experience, strong NEC knowledge, and hands-on mentoring abilities; this role offers growth

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in MEP engineering consulting.
  • Experience designing electrical systems for commercial and institutional projects.
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and building codes.
  • Experience preparing construction documents and coordinating disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Prepare and coordinate construction documents, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
  • Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power, and low-voltage systems.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, panel schedules, equipment sizing, and code analysis.
  • Utilize Revit and AutoCAD to develop detailed construction drawings and BIM models.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, architectural, and civil project team members.
  • Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and project coordination efforts.
  • Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction administration activities as needed.
  • Assist with mentoring junior designers and supporting technical development within the team.
  • Ensure designs comply with NEC, local building codes, and industry standards.

A respected consulting engineering firm is seeking a mid-level Electrical Designer to join its growing MEP team. This position is ideal for a professional with 5-10 years of experience within MEP consulting who enjoys working on a diverse range of building projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and coordination of electrical systems for projects spanning commercial, healthcare, education, municipal, mixed-use, hospitality, residential, and industrial sectors. This role offers significant responsibility, client interaction, and opportunities for continued professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Design electrical systems for a wide variety of building projects from schematic design through construction administration.

  • Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable building codes.
  • Experience preparing construction documents and coordinating with multiple disciplines.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • EIT certification or progress toward PE licensure.
  • Experience working directly with clients, architects, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with electrical analysis and lighting software such as SKM, EasyPower, AGi32, or Visual.
  • Experience across multiple market sectors, including healthcare, education, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, or municipal projects.
