Electrical Engineer – MEP

Our MEP Engineering client in the local area is actively seeking to add an Electrical Engineer to the staff to support commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution, lighting/controls, and fire alarm systems
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and create single‑line diagrams
• Produce construction documents, specifications, and technical reports
• Ensure compliance with NEC, IBC, and local codes
• Coordinate with multi‑disciplinary MEP teams
• Support construction administration (RFIs, submittals, shop drawings)
• Lead the design and specifications for assigned projects (e.g., power distribution, lighting & lighting control systems, fire detection systems), design layouts, equipment sizing and selection, performing calculations, etc.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including drawings, details, schedules, equipment specifications, and associated reports
• Develop electrical design plans and schematics for commercial projects, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and national code regulations
• Integrate electrical systems into multi‑disciplinary designs
• Coordinate with design team professionals of other disciplines to ensure proper coordination on construction documents
• Communicate professionally with clients, architects, and internal team members regarding associated projects

Requirements

• BSEE required
• Six (6) or more years in electrical MEP design
• Skilled in AutoCAD and Revit
• Strong communication and documentation skills
