Job summary

Career-Collective is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing MEP team in Norwood, MA. You will design electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, higher education, and multifamily projects, developing construction documents and specs using Revit and AutoCAD.

The ideal candidate has 3–10+ years of building systems experience, strong knowledge of NEC and local codes, and proficiency in load calculations and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required.
  • 3–10+ years in MEP consulting or building systems design.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience performing electrical calculations and preparing construction documents.
  • Working knowledge of NEC and applicable building codes.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • EIT certification preferred; PE license strongly preferred for senior-level roles.

Responsibilities

  • Design building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
  • Develop construction drawings and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Perform electrical calculations including load studies, short-circuit analysis, voltage drop, lighting photometrics, and panel schedules.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams to integrate designs.
  • Participate in design development, construction documentation, permitting, and construction administration phases.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and support field observations/site visits.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, IECC, local codes, and client standards.
  • Support project schedules, budgets, and quality control requirements.
  • Interface directly with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.

Position Overview

This role will support the design and delivery of electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, higher education, multifamily, mixed-use, industrial, and institutional projects. The ideal candidate has experience developing construction documents, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and producing code-compliant designs through all project phases.

  • Exposure to sustainable design and energy efficiency initiatives.
