This role is responsible for supporting MEP-focused projects, including the development of CAD and Revit drawings, coordinating deliverables, and managing project timelines. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation in power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems, along with the ability to produce detailed engineering documentation from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage workload to ensure timely delivery of assigned projects.
- Support and mentor junior engineers and designers.
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Design and draft electrical systems, including power distribution (208V, 240V, and 480V three-phase systems), lighting, and low-voltage systems.
- Utilize CAD and Revit to produce comprehensive construction documents across various project types.
- Perform electrical calculations such as lighting analysis, voltage drop, and load calculations.
- Conduct power system studies (arc flash, short‑circuit, and coordination) using industry‑standard software.
- Perform field investigations of existing electrical systems and infrastructure.
- Interface with project stakeholders including owners, utilities, engineers, contractors, and facility personnel to support project objectives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency with project standards and goals.
- Provide construction‑phase support including material reviews, progress reporting, and troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design for building systems (e.g., commercial, institutional, or healthcare environments).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes and industry standards.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, components, and design methodologies.
