Job summary

GM Defense seeks an Electrical Design Release Engineer to independently own electrical systems from concept through launch and field support. You will translate requirements into robust, manufacturable designs and lead interface control across electrical, mechanical, propulsion, and software systems.

The role requires strong circuit analysis, power distribution knowledge, and the ability to drive design reviews with suppliers while managing change through release packages.

Qualifications

• Own electrical systems from requirements through design, validation, release, build and issue resolution.
• Translate requirements into engineering specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Lead design reviews, interface control and documentation including BOMs and release packages.
• Experience with PPAP/DFMEA/PFMEA and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Independently own assigned electrical systems and components from concept to field support.
• Define interfaces among electrical, mechanical, propulsion and software systems.
• Drive decisions balancing performance, cost, mass, and manufacturability.
• Direct supplier technical execution, including design reviews and issue resolution.
