Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking Electrical Engineering students to join our Saint Paul, MN office on a part-time, on-site basis. This role focuses on Pre-Design and Design Engineering tasks for power delivery, including coordination of drawings, field investigations, and multi-discipline design work.

You will participate in electrical system design, reports, solar sizing, load analyses, and studies using ETAP/SKM, EnergyPro, or IES VE.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree in progress or completed (Bachelors or Masters).
• Participation in Electrical Engineering coursework or projects.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Design Engineering: Coordinate and verify as-built drawings; perform field investigations; set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines; collaborate on design coordination, schedules and deliverables; perform feasibility studies; prepare schematic designs.
• Design Engineering: Design electrical systems including ports, harbors electrification, EV charging, and building electrical; develop reports and design documents including electrical design plans, equipment selection, solar sizing, and power analyses; participate on project teams in a production role; collaborate across disciplines; perform energy calculations; develop single-line diagrams and load schedules; design lighting and controls; design normal, emergency, and renewable power systems; perform Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination studies using ETAP/SKM.
