Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Philadelphia office seeks an Experienced Electrical Engineer or Analyst with 2+ years of substation design experience to join the Power Delivery team. The role includes designing electrical systems for solar, storage, EV charging, and buildings, and collaborating on cross-functional project teams.

The position emphasizes preparation of specifications, cost estimates, and detailed design documents, with opportunities for BIM and SKM/ETAP analyses in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of design experience in electrical engineering, specifically substation design.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; EIT/EI or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes and energy codes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; BIM (Revit) experience a plus.
• Experience with power analyses (load flow, short circuit, arc flash) in SKM or ETAP.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including solar, battery storage, EV charging and building electrical.
• Participate on project teams in an active production role.
• Prepare project specifications and construction cost estimates.
• Coordinate drawings and verify as-built documentation.
• Develop reports and design documents including electrical design plans and power analyses.
