Job summary

Kimley-Horn’s St. Paul, Minnesota office seeks an Electrical Engineering Professional with 8+ years of experience to join the MEP team. This is not a remote position and may require travel for site visits and meetings.

You will lead the design and analysis of electrical systems for large-scale HVAC and MEP projects, develop design documents, and collaborate with cross-office teams. A PE license is preferred and a BS in Electrical Engineering is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in an MEP or related field.
• P.E. license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and meetings.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate across offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of complex electrical systems for MEP projects.
• Develop design documents and reports, including layouts, schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and Kimley-Horn offices.
• Prepare specifications, electrical construction cost estimates and proposals.
• Mentor and grow the MEP team to expand electrical services.
• Coordinate with fire alarm, technology and lighting design specialists.
• Coordinate with architects and other disciplines for power needs.
