Job summary

Rivian is seeking an Electronics Design Engineering Intern for Spring 2027 at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The role focuses on electrical system prototyping, design, bring-up, and validation for Rivian's next generation of electric vehicles and accessories.

You will create proof of concept deliverables, design and test analog, digital and mixed-signal circuits, and develop PCBA and firmware for prototypes, with documentation to support manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor, master, or PhD in Electrical Engineering at UIUC.
• Active student enrollment during the internship term.
• Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes and test equipment.
• Experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Create proof of concept deliverables for next generation circuits.
• Design and develop analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits to Rivian standards.
• Perform circuit simulations and analyses to ensure design integrity and performance.
• Develop custom PCBA, prototype FW, and simple mechanical fixtures.
• Generate design documentation including specifications, test reports, and manufacturing instructions.
