Job summary

Rivian’s Electronics Design Engineering Intern role in Palo Alto supports prototyping, design, bring-up, and validation of proprietary electrical systems for current and next‑gen Rivian vehicles. You will work on analog/digital/mixed‑signal circuits and PCBAs under guidance, gaining hands-on experience with lab testing and documentation.

The program targets undergrad/graduate students, with a Spring Co‑op Jan-Aug 2027, and no visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at an accredited university.
Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechatronics.
Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
Experience with circuit simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink).
Experience with schematic capture and/or layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, PADS).
Hands on experience with lab equipment (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, spectrum analyzer).

Responsibilities

Create proof of concept deliverables for next generation circuits.
Design and develop analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits to meet Rivian Standards.
Perform circuit simulations and analyses to ensure design integrity and performance.
Develop custom PCBAs, prototype FW, and/or simple mechanical fixtures.
Debug and troubleshoot hardware issues at the board and system level.
Generate comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, test reports, and manufacturing instructions.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
