Job summary

Delta Electronics Americas is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and analyze electrical systems for BESS, microgrids, and PV installations. You will develop diagrams, protection schemes, and coordination studies, while coordinating with control teams and overseeing design through commissioning.

You will work on-site at Raleigh (Morrisville) or Detroit-area offices with 15–25% travel to project sites, and you must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems concentration preferred).
• 5+ years of electrical design experience in BESS, microgrid, utility-scale PV, industrial power, or substation engineering. Senior candidates: 8+ years.
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 855 for energy storage, IEEE 1547-2018, IEEE 519, and IEEE C37 protection series.

Responsibilities

• Develop single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and load flow studies for BESS, PV, and genset microgrids.
• Size and specify medium- and low-voltage equipment and associated components.
• Coordinate protection settings with IEDs and validate grid compliance per IEEE/NFPA standards.
• Own the electrical scope across RFQ, design, FAT/SAT, and commissioning phases.
• Submit AHJ packages and manage RFIs, changes, and site punch lists.
