Job summary

Delta Electronics Americas is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for BESS, microgrid, and utility-scale projects in the Detroit metro area. You will develop single- and three-line diagrams, perform protective coordination, and collaborate with controls teams to meet interconnection requirements.

The role requires on-site work at the Detroit-area (Plymouth Township) or Raleigh (Morrisville) offices, with 15–25% travel.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering required; M.S. preferred.
• 5+ years of electrical design experience in BESS, microgrid, PV, or substation engineering.
• Familiarity with NEC/NFPA 855 and IEEE standards required.
• Hands-on experience with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Serve as electrical engineer of record across RFQ, design, procurement, FAT, SAT, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with utility interconnection engineers through study and witness-testing milestones.
• Own AHJ/ township submittal packages (NEC, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, IBC/IFC).
• Track electrical scope for cost, schedule, and quality; resolve RFIs and change orders.
