Job summary

Delta Electronics Americas in the Detroit area seeks an Electrical Engineer to design, commission and operate Delta’s Plymouth Microgrid. You will program and diagnose the system using Schweitzer and Schneider meters, document tests, and develop models to improve performance.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the controls team on IEC 61850 GOOSE/MMS mapping, SCADA point lists, RTAC I/O schedules, and PCC metering; supporting grid-forming and grid-following modes, black-start sequencing,

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering required; Power Systems concentration preferred.
5+ years electrical design experience in BESS, microgrid, utility-scale PV, industrial power, or substation engineering.

Responsibilities

Design, commission and run Delta’s Plymouth Microgrid.
Program and diagnose the system using Schweitzer and Schneider meters and systems.
Plan, Run and Document Tests using the microgrid to enhance market readiness.
Develop and validate models of the system to improve capability.
Coordinate with controls on IEC 61850 GOOSE/MMS mapping, SCADA lists, RTAC I/O schedules, and PCC metering.
Support grid-forming and grid-following modes, black-start sequencing, islanding and resynchronization.
Prepare equipment specifications, RFQ packages for utility-grade balance-of-plant.
