Job summary

Delta Electronics Americas is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to drive electrical design for utility-scale BESS, microgrid, and PV projects in the Detroit area. You will create single-line diagrams, perform protection coordination, and collaborate with controls and field teams to ensure robust commissioning.

Role requires NEC/NFPA awareness, experience with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower, and on-site work with 15–25% travel.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering; M.S. is a plus.
• 5+ years electrical design experience in power systems or related fields such as BESS, microgrid, PV, or substation engineering.
• Hands-on experience with NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 855, IEEE 1547-2018, IEEE 519, and IEEE C37 protection series.
• Proficiency with load-flow, short-circuit, arc-flash analyses using ETAP/SKM/EasyPower.

Responsibilities

• Develop single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and wiring details for BESS, PV, and microgrid projects.
• Coordinate with controls team on IEC 61850 mapping and SCADA point lists.
• Own RFQ packages, technical bid evaluations, and FAT/SAT support.
• Lead electrical engineer of record across RFQ to commissioning phases.
