Job summary

Nebius is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the design, review, and development of critical electrical infrastructure for data centers, including UPS, LV, MV and HV systems.

The role requires hands-on data center design experience, ability to drive technical decisions, coordinate with partners, and ensure designs meet operational and regulatory requirements; travel to on-site data centers is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with electrical systems in large-scale data centers or critical infrastructure.
• PE license or ability to obtain one within 2 years.
• Experience designing, operating, commissioning, or maintaining electrical distribution systems.
• Strong knowledge of UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers, and power distribution equipment.
• Understanding of medium- and high-voltage electrical systems and protection schemes.
• Experience leading engineering teams and driving technical projects in complex environments.
• Ability to manage internal stakeholders, consultants, vendors, and outsourced project teams.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NFPA 70, UL).
• Experience with power system analysis tools such as SKM, ETAP, or CymCap.
• Ability to read construction drawings and support commissioning across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical design packages for data center projects and determine alignment with internal concepts and partner designs.
• Develop electrical design concepts for high-density data center environments.
• Evaluate UPS, LV, MV, and HV infrastructure.
• Review cable distribution and data hall layouts for efficient design coordination.
• Coordinate with mechanical, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure buildable and maintainable designs.
• Assess designs for concurrent maintainability in high power-density environments.
• Identify alternative design solutions and tradeoffs to meet business needs.
