Job summary

Nebius is pursuing a Mechanical Design Engineer to oversee data center mechanical infrastructure, including cooling systems and critical equipment. The role involves independent evaluation, establishing engineering standards, and ensuring readiness for deployment in hyperscale environments.

Travel to data centers is required. You will lead evaluations, assess cooling topology, and collaborate with vendors to implement scalable, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data center mechanical engineering experience.
• PE license or equivalent certification.
• Experience with cooling topology design.
• Experience evaluating colocation or build-to-suit mechanical infra.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong communication and executive presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering evaluations for data center opportunities.
• Assess cooling infrastructure, HVAC systems, and critical mechanical equipment.
• Evaluate air-cooled, liquid-cooled, and hybrid cooling solutions for AI/hyperscale environments.
• Provide mechanical feasibility recommendations and Go/No-Go input.
• Conduct technical due diligence on facilities.
• Review cooling capacity, chiller plants, CRAH/CRAC systems, liquid cooling readiness.
• Evaluate equipment availability, vendor capabilities, lead times, deployment risks.
• Support cooling topology, mechanical design strategy, equipment selection.
• Validate design assumptions, capacity requirements, construction readiness.
• Partner with engineering teams, vendors, consultants to ensure scalable solutions.
