Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Electrical Engineer/Project Designer in Philadelphia to join our Buildings Northeast team. You will lead electrical design for varied market sectors, supervise junior staff, and coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, and civil disciplines to ensure design intent is met.

You will perform calculations, produce design documentation, and engage in field work and client interfacing. A PE is not required but licensure is encouraged, with LEED credentials valued.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of electrical engineering concepts.
• Solid understanding of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems.
• Experience in construction industry or related processes.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical design documentation using Revit/AutoCAD and guide junior staff.
• Supervise staff, provide mentorship and develop career goals.
• Develop design through sketches, calculations, models, and diagrams.
• Prepare and review site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure design intent.
• Perform advanced calculations and field reviews for existing facilities.
• Lead construction administration duties including shop drawings reviews and RFIs.
• Evaluate and select building electrical systems and materials.
• Attend project coordination meetings and participate in value engineering.
