Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer within our Buildings team in the United States. You will serve as the overall technical lead on projects of varying sizes, guiding a team of electrical engineers and designers through all lifecycle phases.

You will lead design development, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with electrical/building codes, sustainability goals, and project schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience leading electrical design on complex projects.
• Ability to supervise and mentor staff.
• Strong communication in client meetings and coordination with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Leads work on multiple projects with a team to develop full documentation for new construction and renovation facilities.
• Provides supervision to staff to develop skills and careers.
• Leads in client meetings to establish design criteria and review progress.
• Leads evaluation and engineering of all electrical systems and products.
• Prepares project specifications with construction documents.
• Leads design through sketches, engineering calculations, models, diagrams.
• Conducts QA/QC on projects.
• Develops new standards and specs for the electrical group.
• Performs field work to review facility conditions for electrical design.
